Animal Care Assistant – Exciting Opportunity for Recent Graduates!
Tree Frog Treks is excited to offer this hands-on internship opportunity for an extra-ordinary recent high school or college graduate who is passionate about wildlife, conservation, and education! This is a fantastic chance to gain real-world experience in exotic animal care while working with our team to inspire others about the natural world.
About the Role:
As the Animal Care Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our animal ambassadors, including reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, directly supervised by our Animal Care Director. This internship provides practical experience in animal husbandry and education, perfect for anyone looking to pursue a career in biology, zoology, or environmental science.

Daily Responsibilities May Include:
🐢 Feeding and monitoring our reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates
🦎 Misting, cleaning, and maintaining enclosures for optimal habitat health
🐍 Providing enrichment activities to keep our animals engaged and active
🐸 Assisting with animal handling for educational programs and events
🧼 Performing general upkeep of the animal care area, including cleaning and organization
🌿 Learning about conservation efforts and engaging with the community
Who Would Be a Great Fit?
A recent high school or college graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in animal care
A passionate conservationist who loves learning about and working with animals
Someone comfortable with physically demanding tasks (yes, some work will be messy!)
A curious and adaptable learner who thrives in a dynamic environment
A background in science is a plus, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are most important
Available 3-4 hours a day, 3-4 days per week
