Nature Walk - Blue Heron Lake Trek with TFT Team
When: Saturday, 5/3/2025, 10:00am-12:30pm
Where: Blue Heron Lake in Golden Gate Park
What: Our nature hikes are more than just a walk outside! When you’re with our naturalists, what you knew as a routine walk in the park will become a new ecosystem discovery: where Stellars Jays’ squawk and California Towhees scratch for insects among the fallen leaves. Join us for a trek in Golden Gate Park-specifically around Blue Heron’s lake where we can look far and wide, up and down to view what our local park hides inside. It’s an incredible shared experience, and you’ll end the day with a stronger connection to your park! During the hike we'll keep our eyes peeled for wildlife while we learn about the botany, watersheds, and other natural and social history of the area. Let's hone our powers of observation together, and have a fun time doing it!
Group will meet at Blue Heron Lake Drive East at Bridge Street at 10 AM before starting on our trek which will last until 12:30 PM. Parking is available at the Boat House or on Blue Heron Lake Drive, but we suggest coming by bike or foot!
