From the parent of a 2022 Summer camper:
I just wanted to reach out and thank you all for an incredible two weeks. My daughter had the best time at camp and felt really supported by you all. Special thanks to Milo, Giselle and Zoe for all the commitment to the Mariposa crew. I was impressed with your conflict resolution mediation and patience with the children. I also loved your desire to get to know them on a personal level and care about their needs. I really hope to be able to send my daughter again in the future.
I feel so much gratitude and I am thankful to end summer on such a high note. My daughter cried a little in the car on the way home, she just didn’t want the program to end.
What an experience!
From a Parent of 2 kids in 2021 Summer Camp:
This was our first year doing Tree Frog Treks. Corona virus has made this a spring and summer unlike any other. And we are so grateful for our time at TFT! My kids aren’t always enthusiastic about camps. They understand it to be a necessary part of a summer with working parents, but they don’t always enjoy it. But they both loved TFT! True to the motto, they got outside and got dirty (and had a great time doing it!) They met animals, built forts, threw water balloons, ate cake without their hands, participated in a talent show, explored a new (to us) park, and so much more. My daughter told me “I felt like we could be free!” That’s a wonderful experience for any child, during any summer. But particularly now, when we have been anything but free for so long, when we’re so far from our normal experiences, it has truly been a gift. They have already asked if they can come back next Summer! I’ve never written a thank you note to a camp before! But I wanted to make sure that the staff knows how important their work this summer has been to our family, and how grateful we are that they have been willing to put themselves on the front line, with and for our kids. Thank you!!!

This camp is worth every penny. My 8 yo daughter loved every day of this camp. The staff is positive and organized. The kids go on spectacular field trips, interact with animals and spend nearly all day outside. Dream come true camp, particularly for me very high energy (and hard to please) kiddo.

What a wonderful introduction to science and nature! Tree Frog Treks is great value for money. The children have so much hands on fun with the fauna and flora. It is also a fabulous introduction to the beauties and uniqueness of our very own Golden Gate Park. The only drawback is that sometimes, it can be really gray, foggy and COLD in the morning but there is nothing like this sort of weather to build character!

This is a great camp for outdoor adventures with science and art thrown in. My 7 year old LOVED Mr Science who visited the camp every afternoon. The kids got to meet some cool critters, learned about the environment at GG Park and created some crafty projects. The kid to staff ratio was low and the kids get plenty of exercise throughout the day. Make sure the kids have layers to wear as you never know what to expect in GG Park.
From a 2024 TidePooling Trek Parent:
Chris, thank you for giving this event and sharing your time, energy and passion for nature with our group. It was such a wonderful experience. My son has not stopped talking about becoming a Junior Intern for TFT - all because he wants to spend time with you. His latest homework assignment is to plan any kind of service project, and he has chosen to run a lemonade stand to raise funds to donate to TFT “because the animals are cute.”
You have an extraordinary talent for connecting with people and making ordinary things magical.
In your support and encouragement of the passerby child selling snacks out of his wagon, it was so clear that you are actively rooting for ALL children, no matter if you know them or not.
From a parent of 2 kids in 2022 Summer camp:
Before I was a parent I would see Tree Frog Treks in the park and think, "If I ever have children, I want them to go to THAT camp." Fast forward and my children have been enjoying Tree Frog Treks for several years, all at Golden Gate Park.
This summer, we joined a friend at Christopher Park and my children were so excited to see that Sidewinder Sam was the director. He remembered them and welcomed them and of course, they had a magical two weeks!
To be honest, I'm regretting that I didn't just send my children to Tree Frog Treks for the whole summer, as their demeanors when they are engrossed in TFT camp is markedly different than in other camps. Sam and his team are so warm, understanding, approachable, and it really is true that kiddos just need to be outside getting dirty!!
We cannot thank you enough for what TFT brings to our lives and the lives of our children, and especially to Sam and the team for such an idyllic, meaningful experience at Christopher Park.
